Pride & Prejudice Book Covers
This cover was redesigned for the original Jane Austen novel, focusing on the dynamic between its main characters. Using two circles, I symbolized their conflicting yet magnetic relationship. The surrounding rings represent the complexities each character brings to the story, blending negative perceptions with undeniable chemistry. The design visually intertwines their souls romantically, reflecting their ongoing struggle due to differences. In a second iteration, I overlaid text over the characters' features—the eyes and mouth—to emphasize the central conflict: their toxic pride and prejudices towards each other. This approach aims for clarity over symbolism compared to the initial design. I chose blue as the primary color for its calming effect and its portrayal of underlying tragedy. Despite the novel's romantic theme and eventual happiness, it explores their journey fraught with obstacles in finding each other.
